KRFDC is in constant need for groups to host events for our various programs. Anyone can host an event – whether you are a business, church, civic group, service club, sorority/fraternity, etc.

You can:

Host a Transition Ceremony for Liberty Place clients. Liberty Place Recovery Center for Women hosts transition ceremonies periodically throughout the year for women who have completed the recovery program/12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. Sponsors are needed to help provide refreshments.

Fund supplies and/or refreshments for our Back-to-School events. Our Back-to-School events promote a healthy start to the school year for low-income children. Sponsors are needed to help provide school supplies such as spiral notebooks, crayons, notebook paper, scissors, pens/pencils, erasers, and rulers.

Adopt a Head Start or Richmond Child Care Center Classroom (book and/or supplies). By adopting a classroom, donors form partnerships with specific classrooms providing financial and moral support. The result is a meaningful contribution to education in which donors experience the impact of their efforts and celebrate in a classroom’s success. Sponsors are needed to provide books and supplies such as construction paper, scissors, glue, crayons, pencils, and paper.

Sponsor of Head Start Family Fun Night. Family Fun Nights/Parent Meetings are a great opportunity for parents to find out what is going on at their center. These evenings include Head Start program updates, classroom updates, themed activities, and educational programming for activities at home. Sponsors are needed to help provide refreshments and event supplies.

Sponsor a Senior Citizen Center Day Trip. All of our senior citizens centers enjoy going on special day-trips. These day trips provide socialization. Seniors enjoy the theater, musical concerts, shopping malls, and visiting State parks, public gardens and community landmarks. Sponsors are needed to help offset transportation costs, meals, and event ticket purchases/entrance fees.

Host a Volunteer Appreciation Event. Every April KRFDC sponsors Volunteer appreciation events. These events are held in conjunction with National Volunteer Appreciation Week, which is also held in April. During this time we honor the people who dedicate themselves to taking action and solving problems in our communities. We honor our volunteers by hosting Volunteer Appreciation Receptions. Sponsors are needed to help provide refreshments and volunteer appreciation gifts.
