Weatherization Dwelling Needs Evaluator (DNE) Quality Control Inspector (QCI)

Job Description:

This position is responsible for pre-inspections of homes for energy conservation measures; writing work specifications; monitoring work in progress; and final inspections.  The Weatherization Dwelling Needs Evaluator (DNE)/Quality Control Inspector (QCI) ensures the completion, appropriateness, and quality of energy upgrade work by conducting audits/inspections (including safety and diagnostic tests) in accordance with Weatherization program standards.

Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills required; both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate with all sectors of the community. Working knowledge of building codes, materials, and home repair and construction, including, but not limited to basic principles of energy systems.

Must have the ability to work independently, including the ability to prepare and maintain written reports; accurately perform (hands on) weatherization/energy conservation duties; comply with strict deadlines; and interpret and comprehend standards of Weatherization program regulations.

Ability to work with Excel, Word, Outlook, and agency specific software and data-base systems also required.

GED or High School Diploma required, college degree, college coursework, or other relevant training preferred.  Experience in Weatherization and/or experience in general construction trades also strongly preferred. Social services background and experience working with low-income clients also helpful.

Must have or be willing to participate in all trainings required to achieve and maintain a Quality Control Inspector (QCI) certification and the Dwelling Needs Evaluator (DNE) certification.  Required trainings may be subject to contractual provisions.

Pay contingent on education and relevant experience as well as current trainings/certifications. In addition to offering a comprehensive benefit package, the agency participates in the County Employee Retirement System (CERS) which is operated by the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority.

Full-time/40 Hours Per Week/Non-Exempt
$40,000 Annual Base Pay
(rate of pay contingent on education and relevant experience as well as current trainings/certifications)

Clark, Estill, Madison, and Powell
