Temporary Rental Assistance

Eligible persons are homeless who live on the street, in an emergency shelter, in places not meant for human habitation, being evicted within a week, being discharged within a week from an institution in which the person has been a resident for more than 30 days, or fleeing a domestic violence situation.

The TBRA Program provides:

  • Rental assistance
  • Security deposit assistance
  • Utility allowance (if qualifies)
  • Case management
  • Transportation
  • Medical assistance
  • Budget/credit classes
  • Food assistance
  • Heating/cooling assistance
  • Utility assistance
  • Educational assistance
  • GED preparation and referrals.

TBRA serves Clark, Estill, Lincoln, Madison and Powell Counties.

KRFDC currently has three full-time Case Managers and one part-time Case Manager. Each Case Manager is assigned clients based on geographic location to their home and current caseload and typically has 15-20 clients at a time. In addition to their current caseload, Case Managers have ongoing contact with persons seeking housing and other forms of assistance.
