The Powell Adult Day Care long ago outgrew its current site, which has meant limiting capacity at any one time and juggling how many programs can run simultaneously. The new location will accommodate several more people daily.
About the New Building
The building is designed with clients’ mobility in mind, which means grass will be used instead of concrete parking space dividers. The new location will mean outdoor programs for gardening, exercise, and art classes along with more space for indoor programs. In the outdoor garden, garden beds will be at different heights to be more comfortable.
In addition to the Adult Day Program, an entire wing will be dedicated to the Powell Outreach Office, which provides community services such as case energy assistance, Weatherization, Goodwill vouchers, New Eyes for the Needy, and more.
