Crisis Assistance Available Jan. 8

Kentucky River Foothills Development Council, Inc. is continuing to provide energy assistance through the crisis component of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).  Applications can be made from January 8, 2018 through March 31, 2018, or until available funds have been expended.   The program assists households in a heating crisis and will run until the funds are expended.  Read more

Head Start Awarded Duration Funding

Kentucky River Foothills Development Council received a $2,460,556 grant from the Administration for Children and Families to expand their high quality learning program to toddlers through their Head Start program.  This grant will allow Foothills to expand its comprehensive services to the 96 children they serve in Laurel County.  Operating hours were 6hrs daily Monday-Thursday.  This grant has allowed the program to operate five days per week as well as increasing the total number of days per year to 170 school days. Energy Assistance Begins Nov. 6

Kentucky River Foothills will begin the Subsidy portion of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) on Monday, November 6.  LIHEAP provides financial assistance to income-eligible households with home heating costs through two programs: LIHEAP Subsidy (typically in November and December) and LIHEAP Crisis (typically January through March 31 or until all funds are expended). 10th Annual Holiday Luncheon

Liberty Place Recovery Center for Women will host its annual Holiday Luncheon on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. at First Christian Church, located at 412 West Main Street in Richmond. This distinctive event will feature lunch, a decorated table auction, and a silent auction. There are 144 tickets available to the public for $30 per person. Read more
