Peer Support Specialist
Location: Supportive Services for Recovery Enhancement | Richmond, KY
Job Description:
Non-Exempt Position/37.5 Hours Per Week
$15.00 per hour
Position Summary: The Peer Support Specialist (PSS) uses their lived experience in long-term recovery from opioid use disorder and/or mental health conditions to support others on their recovery journeys. As part of the integrated care team, the PSS promotes recovery, self-advocacy, wellness, and connection to essential services for individuals with cooccurring disorders, housing instability, or homelessness.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be certified as a Peer Support Specialist through the Kentucky Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities (DBHDID) or obtain certification within six (6) months of hire.
Must be in long-term recovery from opioid use disorder and/or other substance use disorders, with the ability to serve as a positive role model in recovery. Should demonstrate a strong personal commitment to recovery and consistently model healthy, supportive behaviors.
