Clark County to Lexington Commuter Service Offers Enhanced Convenience and Affordability to Boost Ridership

Foothills Express is excited to announce enhancements to the Clark County to Lexington Commuter Service, aimed at increasing ridership by providing reliable and affordable transportation for local residents. This service, funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation and managed by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Office of Transportation Delivery, ensures seamless connectivity between Clark County and key locations in Lexington.

The service operates Monday through Friday, with morning departures beginning at 6:30 a.m. from Winchester Walmart. Key stops include the Kentucky Educational Television (KET) station, VA Hospital, UK HealthCare, Kentucky Clinic, and Good Samaritan Hospital. Evening return trips start at 4:00 p.m., ensuring a timely arrival back at Winchester Walmart by 5:00 p.m.

“At an affordable $150 per month, our commuter service offers a cost-effective solution for daily travel needs,” said Karen Atkins, spokesperson for Foothills Express. “We strive to make commuting hassle-free for our riders.”

This initiative is part of a broader effort to improve transportation options across Kentucky.
