Empowering Recovery: SSRE Program Launches to Combat Opioid Crisis
Karen Atkins |
Kentucky River Foothills Development Council, Inc. announces the expansion of its Supportive Services for Recovery Enhancement (SSRE) program, offering vital support, guidance, and resources for individuals and households impacted by Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) in Clark, Madison, Estill, and Powell Counties.
The SSRE program serves as a beacon of hope for those facing the challenges of OUD and co-occurring substance use disorder (SUD) or mental health issues. This initiative, generously funded by the Kentucky Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission, aims to provide compassionate assistance to individuals and families navigating these difficulties.
Eligibility for SSRE services is based on a current or previous diagnosis by a licensed medical practitioner, including those who have received prior treatment for OUD or co-occurring SUD, or individuals transitioning from incarceration with non-violent opioid-related convictions.
The program offers a range of supportive activities, including case management services, temporary financial assistance, housing stability plans, healthcare access support, employment and education assistance, and client-centered care plans tailored to individual needs.
Cynthia Romine, program coordinator, emphasizes, “Our goal is to empower individuals and households impacted by OUD and co-occurring SUD/MH issues to achieve long-term recovery, housing stability, and self-sufficiency.”
The SSRE program is dedicated to reducing the impact of the opioid epidemic and poverty in the community, providing a pathway towards a brighter, more empowered future.
